Before You Arrive: What to Prepare
Take care of key paperwork and prep tasks a few days before moving in:
- Copies of ID and insurance cards
- Signed lease or residency agreement
- Medical history, prescriptions list, and allergy info
- Durable Power of Attorney or Medical Directives (if applicable)
- Emergency contact list
- Room measurements or photos to guide packing
Essentials to Pack
Use this list to make sure your loved one has everything they need to feel comfortable and at home:
Clothing and Personal Items:
- Comfortable outfits for daily wear
- Undergarments, socks, pajamas
- Sweater or light jacket
- Non-slip shoes and slippers
- Laundry hamper or bag
Toiletries and Health Supplies:
- Toothbrush, toothpaste, soap, shampoo
- Hairbrush or comb
- Shaving items, lotion, tissues
- Glasses, hearing aids, or mobility aids
